I am a Software Developer with 6 years of experience, currently living in Chile. I specialize in web applications, full-stack — from API design to polished frontends. Most recently I shipped AI features into a SaaS platform used by veterinarians to manage patient records.

Remote-first — open to full-stack, frontend, or Rust roles.

Software Developer (NectarVet)

Shipped Nectar Note AI (LLM voice assistant: AWS Transcribe to SOAP notes) and Ask Coco, an in-app assistant grounded in patient records — cutting veterinarians' note-taking time during appointments.

Prevented lost clinical work by designing a CRDT-compatible autosave architecture and leading the Recoil to Zustand migration that eliminated cascading re-renders.

Hardened production data integrity (transaction-based inventory recalculation, FIFO for controlled substances) and shipped the end-to-end vaccine certificate system.

Delivered 275+ features as a core full-stack contributor (1,100+ commits, 270+ tickets) across Rx dispensing, billing, inventory, and VOIP.

Projects

neonforge

Cyberpunk-styled React component system — 60+ components, shadcn registry, preset theme tokens, Next.js docs with live demos. I've built this to use on my projects — more of them coming here in the future.

TypeScript

array-algorithms-visualizer

Animated visualizer for five classic sorting algorithms — Bubble, Insertion, Selection, Merge and Quick sort — in Vue 3 + TypeScript. Pick an algorithm, generate a random array, and watch every comparison and swap animate in color.

Vue
TypeScript

rustify

Bringing robust null and error handling to TypeScript with a Result, Option and an exhaustive match pattern — published to npm and JSR. Currently used in my projects to ensure correctness.

TypeScript

file-organizer

Rust CLI that organizes your Downloads by file extension — dry-run preview before anything moves, year/month date grouping, and full revert. Colliding filenames get a numeric suffix instead of overwriting, and symlinks are left untouched.

Rust

dotfiles

GNU stow dotfiles — Hyprland/niri, Ghostty, kanata, espanso, NixOS config. This is my daily driver for building my projects and working with people — a workflow that works just for me.

About me

Software developer with 6 years of experience building web applications end to end. In my most recent role, I helped build the cloud platform that powers veterinary clinics — medical records, prescriptions, billing, and inventory — in Python and Next.js/TypeScript on AWS. My recent focus has been AI in production: I was the leading contributor to Nectar Note AI, a voice-to-note assistant that summarizes consultations into medical notes, and I built Ask Coco, an in-app AI assistant grounded in patient records — shipping 275+ features end-to-end across 3.5 years.

On the internet, I go by @ghaerdi — a nickname born from the German custom of replacing ä with ae. My core stack: TypeScript, React, Node.js, GraphQL, Tailwind CSS — plus Rust in personal projects, and Python when backend work calls for it. I've also built extensively with Vue in the past.

Outside of work, my main personal project is a secure password vault I'm building from scratch. My development environment of choice is Linux, an OS I'm passionate about customizing for a perfectly optimized workflow.

An interesting fact about me is that I was born in Switzerland — my mom and I are from the Dominican Republic, so we ended up moving there. I've lived most of my life in the DR. Somehow I ended up falling in love with a person I met on the internet about 15 years ago; she's from Chile, and after some time I moved here. Now I'm happily married to her and living in Chile.

Gaming

Since I have memory I always loved playing videogames. It all started with a Game Boy — now I don't have the time I used to for gaming, but I still enjoy it as a kid. I have played a lot of games and I'm not sure I can pick one as a favorite, but Red Dead Redemption II and Cyberpunk 2077 always come to mind

Demon Slayer movie

Anime & series

I enjoy watching anime, series or movies with my wife — lately I've started re-watching Naruto with her

Music

Always on — I used to listen to more underground music, but recently I've been getting a taste for popular artists, adding more variety to my playlist

Inline skating

I'm on skates when the weather cooperates. I used to skate as a kid but somehow lost the habit as time passed — recently I rediscovered this interest

I like to get around and capture moments with my phone, or with my drone when I'm traveling

I started developing my drawing skill as a kid. I ended up merging technology with drawing, and now I mostly draw on my tablet
